Technique/Endurance Levels

Technique:

The average difficulty of the trails on a given outing

GREEN:

Easy. Typically a 4×4 road with maybe a few sections of easy hiking trail, with an occasional obstacle.

BLUE:

Moderate. There may be some difficulties in the trail, but they are few and far between. 

RED:

Difficult. There will be numerous technical sections, some of which could be engaging due to duration, steepness, or exposure.

BLACK:

Very Difficult. Reserved for experts only. There are many technical and engaging sections of the trail.

Endurance:

Both the uphill and downhill physical endurance are taken into account

GREEN:

Casual Fitness. Ride is usually about 10 km, and has minimal climbing and easy descents.

BLUE:

Moderate Fitness. Ride is between 10-20 km, has minimal climbing, and sometimes a longer descent.

RED:

Advanced Fitness. Ride is usually over 20 km, and has around 1000 meters of climbing and/or around 2000 meters of descent.

BLACK:

Expert Fitness. Ride is usually over 30 km, and more than 1000 meters of climbing and/or over 2000 meters of descent.
